Common Law professor Errol Mendes is the new senior advisor to the government with responsibility for diversity and integrity in the public and private sectors. He will develop new initiatives to promote Canadian values and identity nationally and internationally.
Mendes took office on September 8, 2005. He was nominated to the Privy Council Office by Prime Minister Paul Martin.
