The Support Staff Alumni Chapter will hold a garage sale, in cooperation with the SFUO, the GSAÉD, the Community Life Service and the Gee-Gees sports teams.
“The event has three objectives”, says organizer Andréa Nadeau: “offer affordable house items and appliances to students; generate funds for the Student Food Bursary; and strengthen the sense of community on campus.”
People are asked to donate “nearly new” items, such as large and small appliances, furniture, dishes, pots and pans and household linen.
The garage sale will run on Monday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Morisset Terrace. An auction will be held at noon during which part of the president's dishes will be put up for sale.
All proceeds will go to the Student Food Bursary. Unsold items will be donated to local charities.
You can bring your items to Room 088 of Tabaret Hall (Liaison Office, basement, besides the coffee shop) between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, September 23. Items will also be accepted on the day of the event at the Morisset Terrace, between 7 and 9 a.m.
Organizers are looking for volunteers to work at the tables during the day. If you are interested, please contact Andréa Nadeau (562-5800, ext. 1604, anadeau@uOttawa.ca) or Denise St. Jean (562-5800 ext. 2482, dsjean@uOttawa.ca).
