François Houle will become the next dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, succeeding Caroline Andrew as of July 1, 2005.
His appointment creates a vacancy in the position of associate vice-president academic, which will be filled as soon as possible.
During his term as associate vice-president, Houle worked tirelessly to enable the University to provide for the double cohort and he directed the restructuring of undergraduate programs, the most important overhaul of programs in the University’s history. He worked closely with vice-deans and program directors to facilitate the creation of innovative programs such as the Certificate of Second Language Proficiency and the French Immersion Program.
