The Law Society of Upper Canada has presented honorary degrees of Doctor of Laws (LLD) to four members of the profession who have links with the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law.
Among the four are Ontario Court of Appeal Justice Louise Charron and retired Supreme Court Justice James B. Chadwick, both alumni and former uOttawa professors. Professors Vern Krishna, the Law Society's former treasurer, and Nathalie Des Rosiers, who will become dean of the Civil Law Section on September 1, were also granted honorary degrees.
