Dr. Nicolas Georganas, of the School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE), will receive an honorary doctorate from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, on June 2.
Georganas holds the Canada Research Chair in Information Technology at the University of Ottawa, where he is also co-director of the Distributed and Collaborative Virtual Environments Research Laboratory and a senior researcher and professor with the Multimedia Communications Research Laboratory.
He is currently on sabbatical in Europe. In April and May, Georganas will be at the University of Vienna, where he will conduct further research on multimedia information systems.
