Department of Theatre basks in red-carpet glory at Rideau Awards

The University of Ottawa’s Department of Theatre is celebrating its recent successes at the inaugural Rideau Awards, which celebrated and recognized achievement in English professional theatre in Ottawa. The awards were presented during a celebration on April 13, at Arts Court.

Professor Peter Froehlich won for best male performance in Merz (New Theatre of Ottawa).

Professor Kevin Orr won as best director for Greek (Repercussion Theatre). The show also won in the best production category.

The best new creation award went to The Churchill Protocol (Gruppo Rubato), which was directed by Natalie Joy Quesnel, a 2006 Master of Fine Arts in Directing graduate.
