The University of Ottawa will receive $14 million from the Government of Ontario to allow the University to make improvements to existing buildings, upgrade equipment, renovate facilities, increase energy efficiency and improve security and accessibility.
“Ottawa’s students are our future business and community leaders. By investing in their future, we are investing in Ottawa’s and Ontario’s future,” said Madeleine Meilleur, MPP for Ottawa-Vanier, at the funding announcement at the University of Ottawa on April 11.
Improving the student experience is one of the University’s priorities, and investments are made annually to optimize spaces dedicated to teaching, research and delivering university services.
The funds, announced on April 11, will help improve the maintenance and renewal of facilities, notably classrooms, as well as acquire multimedia equipment for teaching purposes.
