On Wednesday, December 12, student volunteers will be visiting the offices of University employees to request your participation in the "Spread the Net" Campus Challenge.
A donation of $10 or more will buy a bednet that will protect one person against malaria, the number one cause of death in Africa among children under five. In exchange for your donation of $10 or more, volunteers will offer you beautiful holiday gift cards.
If you prefer, you can make a donation online. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.
All across Canada, university communities have taken the challenge issued by Rick Mercer and Belinda Stronach, co-chairs of the “Spread the Net” campaign, to raise the most money before December 31, 2007. The winning campus will receive a visit from the Rick Mercer Report!
The Student Federation of the University of Ottawa (SFUO) needs your help to reach its goal of $7,000 and win the challenge.
All funds raised will go towards purchasing bednets through UNICEF to fight the spread of malaria in Rwanda and Liberia.
