The University of Ottawa assumes the presidency of the Association des facultés ou établissements de lettres et sciences humaines des universités d’expression française for the next three years. This international network is a full-fledged member of the Agence universitaire de la francophonie.
George Lang, dean of the Faculty of Arts, was elected president of AFELSH at its annual general meeting, held on October 21. He succeeds Manfred Peters of the Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix de Namur in Belgium.
AFELSH’s international conference and AGM were held at the UnIversity of Ottawa. The meetings coincided with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Department of Français.
