Julian Wallis, a recent MA graduate from the School of Translation and Interpretation, has won the Localisation Research Centre (LRC)’s “Best Thesis Award” for her thesis on the effects of translation methods on productivity, quality and translator satisfaction. Julian is the second student from the University to win this prestigious international award. In 2003, Francie Gow won the award. Both students were supervised by Professor Lynne Bowker. Wallis received her award at the LRC Conference in Ireland, on October 25th.
