Employer Matching Gift Programs
Employer matching gift programs enable corporations and their employees to collaborate in their charitable giving. An increasing number of corporations or corporate foundations are providing matching gift programs for their employees. In order to do so, you must bring in proof of your donation to your Human Resources Office and return a completed matching gift form to the University of Ottawa. Government of Ontario Matching Program (OTSS)
The Government of Ontario has launched a matching plus program that will make $50 million available each year to the province’s colleges and universities. This initiative, called the Ontario Trust for Student Support (OTSS), has been established as a means of encouraging individuals and organizations to contribute to permanent endowment funds that will assist students who demonstrate financial need.
Investments from private or corporate donors will help to create a broader range of awards for the most deserving and motivated Ontario students, ensuring that they are equipped with the tools necessary for success. All donations made to OTSS endowed scholarship funds will be matched by the Government of Ontario, thus doubling the size of the donation. The income generated from these funds will address one of the University’s top priorities – increasing financial aid programs for our students.
