Erika Arban - Board of Governors Member


Biography: 

Erika Arban is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa, where she works in the area of Comparative Constitutional Law and Federal Systems. She holds a LLB from the University of Trieste in Italy and a LLM from the University of Arizona in the USA. She is a member of the New York Bar and the American Bar Association.

Prior to coming to the University of Ottawa for her PhD, Erika worked as staff attorney with Quinn Emanuel LLP, a law firm based in Los Angeles.

Since 2009, she has been actively involved in the University of Ottawa student community, both as a member of the Executive of the Graduate Students in Law Association and as a councillor of the GSAÉD. In addition to her research activities, Erika works as a student-mentor at the Graduate Student Mentoring Centre of the University. She is also a member of University of Ottawa Toastmasters, and of the Junior Chamber International (Ottawa chapter).

Her commitment is to help making the University of Ottawa an institution of outstanding education and research in a charming and internationally renowned environment that can meet the academic and social needs of its students.
